Yuri Bezmenov, a Soviet journalist and former KGB agent, offered a detailed view on ideological subversion, revealing the subtle and pervasive techniques used to destabilize societies from within. Defecting to the West in the 1980s, Bezmenov shared his insights into these methods, giving a chilling glimpse into the strategies employed by intelligence agencies to manipulate and undermine target nations. 

According to Bezmenov, the KGB's primary role was psychological warfare and propaganda, with espionage comprising only about 15% of their activities.
